Amanda Bossard graduated from high school in 1992. She then began her studies in marine science at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard's career began in 1999 when she was offered a position aboard the F/V Sunset. It is a 65-foot vessel, which was a halibut fishing vessel, was transformed into a salmon tender by Murat Ariatn. The couple is a commercial fisherman for over 20 years. Bossard is married to Aritan. They have now united and claim their respective fields. They are supporters of conservative and profitable renewable seafood resource management. In 2007, she became a mother of two young children Bella age 3 as well as Andre 1 Bossard and then relocating back to live in Philadelphia and opened an online direct market wholesale distributor of seafood known as Otolith. Her husband has a long history in the fish industry that often means they stay separated from each other for a period of five or more months. It is during this time that they are focusing on their financial and environment objectives. Since July of 2016, Bossard as well as her daughters Isabella age 12 and son Andre aged 10 returned to Southeast Alaska annually each summer to work as deckhands throughout the summer wild salmon harvest. With a small 42 troller, the Bossards catch salmon using hooks. They work in conjunction with Aritan working in the local processing facility for a period of two weeks. Amanda Bossard works as an anchor/MMJ for News 12 Brooklyn and News 12 Bronx. She is with the station since November of 2015.
